I have long been part of Women and the Silent Screen.I was invited to attend its first iteration as a young scholar when I was still a PhD student at the Sorbonne and it was held in Utrecht, hosted by Annette Förster and Eva Warth.
As an Australian who had newly relocated to Melbourne, it gave me great pleasure to bring the conference here.
The support and commitment from the NFSA and NZ Film Archive was really important, because we are a conference that also programs and curates visible histories of women and screen history.
